What Is Anger

Anger is a normal and healthy emotion to experience, especially when you are feeling mistreated, judged or wronged. Anger can stem from frustration, guilt and other underlying emotions, or as a result of being subjected to real or perceived threat, or from being prevented from doing something you feel is important. Anger is a useful emotion which can help motivate some people, however if it is not handled appropriately, it can be destructive. Anger is most commonly associated with aggression but it can also be expressed in other ways or even suppressed resulting in depression or anxiety.
